Tips on Measuring your wheelchair for an adaptive van.

* When looking to purchase an adaptive van, it is very important to make sure the van will accommodate the person that will be using it. It is a good idea to measure the dimensions of the wheelchair as well as the person who will be using it. People and wheelchairs are all different sizes; therefore measuring specific areas are crucial to ensure the van will accommodate you properly.

  1. Measure the height from the top of the person's head to the ground (while the person is sitting in the wheelchair).
  2. Measure the width of the wheelchair at the widest point (usually outside wheel to wheel)
  3. Measure the length of the wheelchair from back wheels to tip of the person's toes (while sitting in wheelchair)

When you have these measurements you will be able to see which vans will accommodate you.  We provide the measurements of the wheelchair lifts on all of our vans.  Some wheelchairs can be adjusted to get into the vans more comfortably.
